In Episode 9 we have a little holiday bonus. Lance (RevTheRoadie) not only breaks down a fabulous Fish Singer Ushi deck, but he reveals all his secrets about starting a successful gaming group.

As mentioned in the first half of the episode, here are a few books Lance recommends especially if you're trying to get a group started.

Recommended Reading

The Art of Possibility – Rosamund Stone Zander and Benjamin Zander

Notes from Lance:

The Zanders excel in their perspective fields because, in a significant way, they have developed the ability to look for possibility rather than deficit. This goes beyond personal approaches of optimism or pessimism, and instead offers a collection of ideas that helps to broaden how we, individually, look for possibilities. Beginning a gaming group, especially outside of an established gaming community like a game shop, requires some creative solutions, of which, this book is helpful in finding.

The Tipping Point: How Little Things Can Make a Big Difference – Malcolm Gladwell

Notes from Lance:

Gladwell looks at the many small pieces that create large movements. This is helpful for looking at the small pieces that make for big success and how we can recreate these small pieces to increase the opportunity for successful gaming groups. Especially of note, are the three personality types later in the book( a person may be one, some, all, or none of these) that are often found at the center of successful movements.
